St. Petersburg,
Stage Theatre named after A.Raikin
The name of Bulat Okudzhava is closely
connected with his wonderful songs, in Soviet times they
were “a gulp of freedom” for many people. The given night
also included autobiographic prose (“A girl of my dream” is
a story about meeting with mother after her return from a
camp prison and 10-year separation with a son), a part of
story “Good health to you, the pupil”, poems from the
well-known collections “March, the generous”, “Arbat yard”,
“A soldier made of paper” as well as almost unknown verses
written during the last years of Okudzhava’s life.
St. Petersburg owes the poet… Okudzhava loved this city,
it was the place of his first performances as well as a
shouting from the hall: “It’s vulgarity”, and Leningrad
Theatre of Young Spectators rejected the stringent play
“Good health to you, the pupil”.
“It’s just a portrait of love” is the name of night
devoted to the 85th anniversary of Bulat Okudzhava. We
express our gratitude, acknowledgement and memory to the
great poet…
