St. Petersburg, Stage Theatre named after A.Raikin

Now one could say that cabaret is the favorite genre of Ludmila Petrushevskaya. Therefore, she created her own small theatre “Cabaret of one author” which performs the best songs of the previous century including immortal “Lili Marlen”, Fallen leaves”, “Life in red light” and polish tango “The last Sunday” as well as “Murka” which was composed in Poland before the Second World War, the oldest rock-n’-roll, Italian, American songs and even a foxtrot “An old lady slowly crossed the road” from Chicago musical of 1930s.

Ludmila Petrushevskaya took her self-made hats and button necklace – the basic attributes of her shows. These trendy and well thought stage accessories are one of the main decorations of “One author’s cabaret”.

To reveal the secret, Ludmila Petrushevskaya didn’t only go info music and vocal but also sang in opera studio as well as academic choirs (by the way, it served a plot for her play “Moscow choir” which is staged in St. Petersburg Maly Dramatic Theatre and has also won all the possible theatrical awards). It partially explains the fact that the famous writer has a wonderful voice and is an amazing singer of her “free and non-free translations”.
