Stage Theatre named after A.I.Raykin

2009.

On March 2009 Stage Theatre named after A.I.Raikin hosted the recital of Vladimir Makanin, classic of Russian literature, laureate of the State Award of the Russian Federation.

Critics call Makanin one of the best representatives of so call “generation of the 40-year-olds”.

Such of his books as “Anti-leader”, “Forerunner”, “Manhole”, as well as stories “Klyucharev and Alimushkin”, “Blue and red”, “A man of retinue”, “Hostage of the Caucases”, novels “Underground or the Hero of our time”, “Asan” have become classical.

Makanin’s works are translated in many languages and are largely published abroad. He is awarded by the order “Sign of Esteem” (1984), Bookers Premium of 1992, Award of the “Novy mir” magazine (1995), Pushkin’s award of A.Tepfer fund (1998), “Banner” Fund (1998, 2000), the State Award of the Russian Federation (1999).

In November 2008 the latest Makanin’s book “Asan” won the largest Russian literature award “A big book”.
