International Forum “Empire. Four dimensions of Andrei Bitov”
Soiree of writers “Literature about Bitov” October, 1 2007 Soiree of writers took place on October, 1 2007 in the hall “Vernisage” of “Ambassador” hotel and comprised a part of ceremonial opening of the Forum which was called “Bitov about literature and literature about Bitov” .
At 6.40 p.m. presentations of new Bitov’s books and showing the special Maxim Gureev’s film “Bitov about literature” were followed by performances of B. Akhmadulina, Yu. Aleshkovsky, D. Bykov, M. Zhvanetsky, P. Krusanov, A. Kushner, S. Nosov, L. Petrushevskaya, V. Popov, V. P’yetsukh etc. The host was B. Averin, President of the International Association “Live classics”.
By the way, Organizing committee of the Forum had no strict scenario: the writers conducted informal discussion in atmosphere which didn’t remind official celebrations of anniversaries. The soiree of writers was attended by literary experts, participants of the International scientific conference devoted to A.Bitov as well as outstanding representatives of modern culture, prominent politicians and state figures.
