The novel tells us about one week of life of different people. Each of them has his/her own history but once their destinies become interwoven in a very odd way in streets of St. Petersburg. At this very moment the Energy Summit is held in St.Pete, with heads of forty countries being participants. A group of terrorists plans to ruin electric transmission facilities and take all presidents hostage demanding serious increase in aid to the third world countries. An operation is being thoroughly prepared.
In search of his sweetheart, who was forced to marry a rich old man, Ali miraculously appears at the Summit. He is not aware of the fact that the husband of his beloved girl is the owner of the hotel hosting the Summit. On February, 14, Ali learns by radio about St. Valentine’s Day and decides that St. Valentine will marry him to his sweetheart.
Irek is a guide and an intellectual person, a "pet boy” from Nizhny Novgorod, who has run away from his step-father. Irek is also a writer who is occasionally involved in all events connected with a mysterious young organization Khoush… There is only one week before the terrible event which now still seems to be possible to avoid.
